Davon and Alanna met in 7th grade at John Rolfe Middle School. They were both in Mrs. Huyck’s reading class where they became fast friends. Davon would tell you that, when he met Alanna, it was love at first sight and he instantly knew she was the one!! Alanna would say that she had no idea how quick and hard she would eventually fall for Davon and how she had no idea how early in life she would meet her soulmate!

Surprisingly, it wasn’t until early high school that Davon and Alanna exchanged numbers and began learning more about one another. This was short lived as Davon soon moved to Westmoreland, County and briefly lost touch with Alanna.

Davon and Alanna reconnected toward the end of high school. This is when Davon took Alanna on her first real date! They enjoyed a night bowling at what used to be AMF Bowling in Mechanicsville, VA. If you know anything about the groom and/or the bride, you know that they are both extremely competitive. That night, Alanna won! Davon still swears to this day that he was being a gentleman and that he let Alanna win!

Bowling was just the start of Davon and Alanna strengthening their connection and spending time together. They enjoyed visiting parks, going out to different restaurants, and having movie and game nights (these are still some of their favorite ways to spend time together - not much has changed)! Unfortunately, this chapter of their relationship concluded when they both had to go their separate ways and begin the next chapter of their lives (college). They stayed connected for a while but eventually integrated into campus life and lost contact.

Fast forward to the pandemic! Davon reached out to check on Alanna and to wish her a Happy 26th Birthday. Fun Fact - Davon and Alanna were born just 9 days apart (same year and all)! To Davon’s surprise, Alanna suggested that they connect and catch up! Two days later, Davon and Alanna were on their second first date (due to covid-19 this date was in the park). After a little over 6 hours of endless conversation and tons of mosquito bites, Davon and Alanna both knew that this was the beginning of their forever!

Davon proposed to Alanna while on family vacation in Tampa, Florida on August 9, 2023. This date is extra special to the couple because it was their 3-year dating anniversary.
